You know its spring when........

The Clivia, which has cowered in the shade all year, bursts into colour.

The bird of paradise plant reaches for the sky...........

and the plum blossoms arrive before the bees have realised that spring is here!

... and around here the leaves are turning yellow and there's the smell of fall in the air!

Hi Fi. Yes that green fuzz is just appearing on the willows around here. And the kiwifruit are budding. We hope there are no more frosts.

Teepe - hope you are enjoying your break. Do people generally welcome your winter? It must mean a complete lifestyle change for several months of the year.

Putz - you know me so well! A garden and flower nut through and through!

Bettyl - It can be a long winter, even though where we are we do not experience snow or too many frosts (there were a few more than usual this year though), our winters can be long and dreary with lots of rain.
