There is a distinct feeling of Autumn in the air but it doesn't stop the keen surfers. We were at Port Waikato a few weekends back and saw this trail of people heading out to the waves.
Port Waikato is on our West coast where the waves are often wilder and larger than the East. The sand is also black with a heavy iron content.

Around here we're looking for any and all signs of spring...
The header picture is actually taken on the Chatham Islands, but is very similar to west coast beaches and coastline on the mainland.
I love reading about autumn in this post, largely because here in the States, we are poised on the edge of summer - the season of the year I detest most! JEALOUS of you!
