This handsome fellow (or lady) is a weta - my favourite insect. I know he has a face that only a Mother would love, but you have to admit he has character!
I have written about him before here. I found nine of them when I cleaned out the garden shed and woodpile.

He does look a little bit cute as illustrated on the stamp. And wow, that's an EXPENSIVE stamp!!

Oops,just looked more closely at the stamp; $2.50 isn't so bad, I initially read it $250! (Time for a glasses upgrade??)
Of course he may well be a she! No way of telling by looking at the picture on the stamp. You can tell in real life.
