Great pics! Really puts it in perspective. Many of the people in Samoa would have been caught in their sleep as there was not long between the earthquake and the first wave. SO sad. Was talking to a friend here in Christchurch - they live on the local sandspit - prime wipe out land if there is a tsunami! She drove into town at 10 am, and only heard then there was a warning out - on the car radio.... she was not impressed with the local civil defence. f
So sad :( All the earthquakes, tsunamis and tropical storms that have destroyed land and left people homeless are just devastating. My grandmother is due to return to the Philippines and I'm afraid to see what she will be returning to.

What an incredible image! The top one makes me feel so insignificant...
I have just heard the news, just before 4pm there was another earthquake of 6.3 magnitude. An aftershock. No tsunami warnings as yet.
The last shock was near Tonga.
Nature can be fearsome...
